Rice Husk

Rice husk is the outer cover of the rice grain removed in the milling process. In addition to protecting rice, rice husk is also used as a building material, fertilization or fule. A Rice husk contains 20% of silica by weight, and can therefore be considered a biological silica ore.

It is made up of hard materials, including silica and lignin, to protect the seed during the growing season. Each kg of white rice results in about 0.28 kg of rice husk as a by-product of rice during production. Rice is widely produced in Pakistan. It is seen that in the last four years, the average production of rice husk was around 1,828 tons per annum.
