Palm Cake (Malaysia)

Palm cake is a feed by-product that is produced for livestock by many different industries. The chemical composition of palm cake may vary depending upon the type of fruit palm, source of sample, and method of processing oil extraction.

Category:

Plam cake is the edible seed of the oil palm fruit. The fruit yields two distinct oils: Palm oil derived from the outer part of the fruit and oil derived from the kernel. The pulp left after oil is rendered from the kernel and formed into a Palm Cake.  It is used as high protein feed animals. Palm Cake provides approximately 14–18% of crude protein, 12–20% crude fiber, 3–9% ether extract. Many studies suggested that the animals performed satisfactorily well when fed on diets containing different levels of palm kernel cake
