Mustard Straw is an agricultural by-product consisting of the dry stalks of mustard plants after the grain and chaff have been removed. Straw may be fed as part of the component of the diet to cattle or horses that are on a near maintenance level of energy requirement

Mustard Straw has a low digestible energy and nutrient content as opposed to hay, which is much more nutritious. It is used to maintain the body temperature of animals. It may be fed as it is, or chopped into short lengths, known as chaff. In Pakistan the most important source of producing oil is mustard. It is cultivated over an area of 307,000 hectares in Pakistan.
